Digital resources and project safety

Our paid woodworking plans are physically built and tested before release. Testing a particular build is not certification of every possible version or use. Plans are not engineered structural drawings, building permits, or a guarantee of compliance with all local requirements.

Read the entire plan before buying materials or cutting. Verify actual lumber dimensions, measurements, fasteners, clearances, and assembly order. Nominal lumber labels may differ from actual dimensions. Follow the measurement system in the plan; do not estimate dimensions from a product image.

Use appropriate tools, safe workholding, ventilation, and protective equipment, and follow manufacturers' instructions. If a step is beyond your experience, seek qualified help. Do not make unassessed changes to structural connections, loads, or intended use.

Placement, weather, children, and pets

Check stability, floor or ground conditions, moisture, wind exposure, sharp edges, pinch points, hanging components, and access by children or pets. Decorative planters and signs are not climbing equipment, seating, or safety barriers. Use suitable exterior materials and finishes where specified, manage drainage, and inspect outdoor projects regularly.

A design or finish appropriate for one use is not automatically safe for children's products, pet enclosures, food contact, or other specialist applications. Obtain relevant expert guidance before adapting a project to those uses.

Rental and property limitations

Check lease conditions, owner permissions, surface compatibility, building rules, and installation requirements before modifying a home. An adhesive, removable fixture, or freestanding item may still cause damage or create a hazard. Renter-friendly does not mean universally permitted or damage-free.

For structural work, electrical or plumbing installations, unusual loads, or code questions, consult an appropriately qualified professional. We cannot certify your project remotely.

Illustrations, estimates, and recommendations

Promotional images, renderings, and AI-assisted illustrations communicate a design or styling idea; they may include decor not supplied with a purchase. They do not replace technical instructions or prove a particular physical result. Refer to the product description for exactly what is included.

Build times, costs, and results vary with experience, available tools, materials, finish, and site conditions. We distinguish our own plan testing from third-party product research. References to external products are not guarantees of their suitability, availability, or performance.
